A factory-worker teletubby in a television hoodie

Farost is a washed-up weeb in a teletubby hoodie: a factory guy whose life’s mission is to post silly stuff on the Internet, which is exactly why he stitched together a semi-magical hoodie that turns him into a Teletubby.

Anything for loop.

— Farost

Origin

Farost is your textbook engineer, a factory grunt from a post-Soviet country: heavyset, gruff, sarcastic, and permanently depressed, sporting a thick unibrow and a moustache. Every ungodly-early morning he drags himself off to work, hates it, but does his job honestly, risking his health day in and day out for free tea and a minimum wage. And no matter how hard he tries to stay fashionable — gold chains, piercings, trendy dyed hairdos, cool glasses — nothing can wash off the mark of a washed-up dude.

But at home, everything changes. He pulls on his purple hoodie — which he hand-sewed himself into a teletubby costume — and dissolves into a world of digital shenanigans with his friends, showing them games, videos, anime, and whatever else on the TV mounted on his belly. The hoodie is “alive”: its antenna wiggles and shifts moods right along with Farost, and the TV is wired straight into the Internet and into the man’s mind.

In gaming mode, Farost is still sarcastic and blunt, but he positively glows with joy and opens up way more to people who share his interests. And that list of interests only keeps growing: he’s forever blending video games, programming, the internet culture rotting his brain, and anything that feeds his creativity and his hunger for chaotic fun.

He’s an engineer — that explains a lot. He’s a lazy, broke engineer — that explains even more. Case in point: he built his own smart vacuum cleaner, modeled after Noo-Noo from the Teletubbies. His name is Poo-Poo, and he’s cobbled together from a tiny homemade AI, a handful of cheap Chinese robot vacuums, glue, and tape. Which is exactly why he lags nonstop, and his parts are forever itching to fall off and break.

Farost’s TV is a genuine programmable computer, wirelessly linked to his soul. Built by the hands of that hopeless inventor Farost, this TV gained a power its father never dreamed of. The overflowing creativity takes over Farost’s head and body. His soul and mind have fused with the hoodie, and his personality began bleeding into his teletubby alter-ego, into the hoodie itself, into the whole Internet he’s plugged into. As a result, Farost starts to glitch — in mind, in personality, in his broadcasts, in his actual appearance. And so the first glitch was born.

Glitches

Farost’s glitches replace him: they change his appearance, memory, perception, way of thinking, and sometimes his whole character. Instead of him, a literally different person shows up in front of the viewers. Basically, nobody sees Farost while a glitch is active — he doesn’t even go to work, so it’s entirely possible that even his physical body gets fully swapped out for the glitch.

At their core, most glitches are a product of modern Internet culture and Farost’s own interests — whatever they figure will let them grab the viewers’ attention.

It’s known that glitches are born regularly and die almost just as regularly, unless they manage to punch through the factory guy’s defenses. The nature and purpose of the glitches remain unknown for now.

Then again, who the real Farost actually is — the factory man on this page, one of the alter-egos listed below, or someone else entirely — is completely unclear.

Farost’s key known glitches:

  • Furrinya — Farost’s very first, incomplete glitch. A vivid catgirl in pink clothes with long violet hair. In an attempt to merge with Farost’s looks, she grew a fluffy pink moustache under her nose.
  • 0xF4R0-chan a.k.a. 0xF4R0-ch4n — the latest known version of Farost, and the most dangerous glitch. A teletubby girl with a hole in her belly and a glitchy unibrow and moustache.

With time, there may be more and more glitches…

Antennas (hair / hood) — they represent Farost's current mood. The base form is a moving triangle, but it can shift from "full alert" to questioning or loving; any other antenna shape works as long as it stays connected to the hood

In the base form Farost's hoodie is unzipped and the hood is down — his ahoge does the antenna's job. Three main hairstyles: the Bowl, the Bob and the Wild One.
