Tubbypoly

  • 2–32 players

  • private tables

No more than 5 tables run at once. A table where nobody has made a move for an hour is closed: the game ends as it stands and the slot is free.

Both games share one set of rules — here it is, whole.

Setting up

The host gathers people, adds bots if they like («+ bot») and picks the game, the starting cash (1000 / 1500 / 2000 / 3000), the clock for a decision (20 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 s) and a round limit.

After «Start» everybody throws for the order of play: the highest goes first, a tie is thrown again by the tied alone.

At a big table (7 players and more) the throws for the order are made for everybody at once — the game opens by announcing the order.

On the bigger boards (9 players and more) everybody is dealt one lot to begin with.

A turn

Throw two dice and walk their sum.

A double — throw again. Three doubles in a row — to prison.

Passing or landing on Start — +200.

Buying and auctions

Land on a lot nobody owns — buy it at its price or pass.

Pass, and it goes to auction for everybody: 15 s for the first bid, 8 s after each one, steps of 10 or more. The last bid wins.

Rent

Land on somebody’s lot — pay its owner. A mortgaged lot takes no rent. A player in prison collects rent as usual.

Press a field — its card has the whole rent table, and the row that applies right now is marked ▸.

street
by its table; a whole set in one hand doubles it while bare; on the bigger boards part of a set already adds 50 % a lot
transport
25 · 50 · 100 · 200 — for 1–4 in one hand
utility
the dice × 4, for two × 10

Houses and hotels

Own a whole colour set with nothing in it mortgaged — build. Evenly: a new house goes where there are no more houses than on the rest of the set.

The fifth is a hotel. A house costs 50–250 by the street’s price; sold back to the bank it fetches half. The bank never runs out of houses.

Mortgage

Mortgage a lot for half its price (no houses in its set). Lift it for that half plus 10 %.

Cards

Two decks of 16, the sums and places of the real game; Tubbypoly adds one card of its own, «67!».

What comes up: money or a fine, a trip to a field, to the nearest transport (its owner gets double rent) or utility (its owner gets 10 × a throw of the dice), three fields back, prison, repairs for every house and hotel, money from or to every player, a get-out-of-prison card — which stays with you until you use it.

A card says what it does, and the record follows it with a line of what happened: who gets or pays how much, who is moved where.

A «every player pays» card at a big table (7 players and more) is paid at once by everybody who has the pupas; only those who are short are waited for.

Prison

You get there from the «to prison» field, by a card or by three doubles in a row.

Out: pay 50 before the throw, hand in a card, or throw a double. Three tries without one — pay 50 and walk.

Taxes and windfalls

A tax field — pay the bank (200 and 100 on the main ring). The bigger Tubbypoly boards also have windfalls: there the bank pays you.

Debts

Nothing is paid by itself: a rent, a tax, a card’s sum is a debt that waits for you.

Pay — when the cash is there. Raise — the game mortgages and sells for you, cheapest first (what exactly is lit on the board). Give up — leave the game.

Bankruptcy

Can’t pay — you are out. Houses go back to the bank at half. In debt to a player — they get your cash, lots and cards; in debt to the bank — your lots are free again.

Trades

With any player, at any time but an auction: lots, cash, cards. Both sides must give something; a lot of a set with houses cannot change hands.

An offer lives 1 min. One open offer at a time and 5 a round, no more than three unanswered at one person; after a refusal that pair waits 30 s.

Clocks and AFK

Every decision has a clock. When it runs out the game plays the safe move for you: a throw, an auction, the end of the turn, selling to pay a debt.

Missed a clock — from then on you are played with a 2-second clock until you press anything. Closed the tab — the same, at once.

None of a table’s players there — it stands still and waits. An hour without a single move — the table closes and the game ends as it stands.

Bots

They play by the same rules with the same buttons: buy, bid, build, mortgage, and every third round offer a trade for a set of their own.

Winning

The last one standing wins.

Out of rounds (a big table has a limit from the start: 12, 10 or 8) or ended early — places by net worth: cash, lots at their price (mortgaged at half) and houses.

Ending early

⚑ — leave by yourself: the game goes on without you, your lots go back to the bank (to the creditor when you are in debt).

■ — end the game for everybody, places by net worth. Anybody still playing may press it, and the host. With only bots left besides you, the game ends at once.

With other people in it, it is a vote: 60 s for each of them to answer ✓ or ✗; the game goes on meanwhile. One ✗ cancels it at once. The game ends only when everybody agrees.

When the time is up: whoever is away (a closed tab, missed clocks) has no vote and holds nothing up; but if somebody who is there did not answer, the vote has not passed.

After a vote that did not pass, its proposer may ask again in 3 min (the others in 30 s). Bots, the bankrupt and viewers do not vote. Who proposed and who answered what is in the record.

The site’s owner can close any table at once.

The table

The host can make a table private (a PIN to sit or watch), send viewers away or let them write in the chat. Watching needs a Twitch sign-in.

The host can remove a bot, or a player who is away, from the game. One who is there — only the site’s owner can.

The host can hand the seat of a player who is away to a bot: it plays on with their money and lots — buys, builds, trades. Back at the table, the player takes the seat again.

Where the host switched on «Bots’ seats for viewers», a viewer can take any bot’s seat and play on with what the bot has.
